The Director of Global Events is a leadership role responsible for setting event strategy, program design, packaging and implementation to ensure that our events like insideMOBILITY Summits and Roundtables, Alliance Conference and Client Insight Council, as well as developing an integrated sponsorship and conference strategy and plan complements our event program and meets the needs of the overall business strategy.
This role will liaise with the central marketing team and regional teams and event coordinators to understand market maturity and nuances in order to better understand and recommend programs and sponsorship and conference opportunities that align with each region.
This role reports to the Head of Marketing.
The Director of Global Events will be responsible for:
- Owning the global budget and strategic and tactical execution, management and development for event programs and industry event sponsorship and trade shows, including: event plan development, project plan creation, asset construction
- Owning event technology decisions, including strategy for event technology functionality (i.e. registration, session scheduling, follow-up)
- Collaboration with the central digital marketing team to ensure demand generation best practices including email, social media and website advertising
- Secure multi-year partnership agreements managing all negotiations, asset allocations and deals
- Coordinate with the global regional contacts to ensure global program consistency through brand, topics, content, assets, production
- Formulate, streamline, and optimize event planning and execution processes to drive improvements to the supplier, client and prospect experience and lead generation
- Measure, track, and analyze global program results to provide data-driven reporting and recommendations for improving future events
Required Skills
- Proven ability to align stakeholders around a vision and drive forward its success
- Demonstrated success in being able to manage multiple events/projects simultaneously
- Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Proven track record in creating innovative and targeted programs that generate results
- Skilled negotiator with proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less and staying on budget
- Attention to detail, customer-service orientation and creativity in problem-solving
Required Experience
7+ years of relevant work experience in marketing programs, event planning, sponsorship and marketing communications. Heavy experience in event planning, including budgeting, is required.
BA/BS degree is strongly preferred with experience working with international marketing and sales organizations.
50% Global travel is expected.
